Electel was originally established as an electrical contracting business in August 1985 by Howard Truin and three other local electricians from Traralgon – first operating out of a small shed from home and then relocating to a small workshop located on Head Street.

Since 1996, Electel has been owned and operated solely by the Truin family. Sadly Howard passed away in May 2016 and the company is now managed by two of Howard and Sally’s children – Steve & Christine, with 12 employees, one being a third generation of the Truin family, Benjamin.

Electel. Growing With Our Local Community
As business grew, Electel moved a further three times, purchasing building and adjacent land at 169 Argyle Street, Traralgon – and has operated from this location since 2006.

Since 2015, Electel experienced substantial growth and it was decided that it was time to expand further. The adjacent vacant block that had been used as a water tank display yard now houses a brand new purpose-built building – officially opened on 28th July, 2017. The expansion successfully combined the old with the new – housing extensive showroom, workshop and administration facilities.

Today Electel is no longer just known for its electrical contracting but also for a wide range of maintenance and repair services – electric motors, pumps, welders, generators & small electrical tools.

Electel also offers an extensive retail store, and are local stockists for a wide range of water pumps, electric motors, water tanks, water filtration, galvanised, stainless & poly fittings. Electel also stocks a large range of spare parts for water pumps, electric motors, pressure washers & power tools, including capacitors & brushes, just to name a few.
